Hades

Seemingly a recent resident of the House of Hades, “Robs” is a curious shade that seems to utterly refuse to believe she has died. She/they.

Physical

Robs stands at 5’8” and a half (the half is very important to her). She has a thin frame and very pale skin, nearly paper-white. Vine-like markings dot her skin, with flowers on the back of her hands and the tops of her feet. She has teal hair and bangs styled into a straight hime cut that goes all the way down her back and slightly curls inwards at the ends, cascading almost like water. Long, pointed ears poke through her hair. Her eyes are a dull green, and large but sharp in size. There is a scar underneath her left eye. In life, she lost it to an attacker, but in death she’s gotten it back, somehow. She is not expressive and typically has a flat, stoic expression, rarely emoting aside from scowling - it’s not on purpose, she’s just not used to smiling. She typically wears the same set of robes, a light blue in color, with an orange layer overtop.

Keepsake: Komboloi

From Robs; you share Death’s Bond.

Something you both know well: Dying is a lonely thing, is it not?

Upon being gifted with Nectar for the first time from Zagreus, Robs will present him with a gently crafted set of komboloi, Greek worry beads. The komboloi give Zagreus a small chance of not consuming a use of Death’s Defiance and instead revive for free. 5% at rank 1, 10% at rank 2, and 15% at rank 3.

Companion: Pseudoe

Pseudoe is a little stuffed deer, and using it to summon Robs causes her to appear in front of Zagreus and quite literally explode into a burst of thorns, doing damage in a small radius around Zagreus. Zagreus heals for a percentage of the damage caused.

History

Pre-Death

While Robs claims she retains little to no memory of who she was before she died, she is willing to share bits and pieces here and there, important parts that stand out. She remembers the name she was born with, though does not readily share it - instead preferring to introduce herself as “Robs”, just Robs. With some pressing, she’d let one call her Robin, but her birth name is kept tightly secret.

In life, Robs was a nymph, guardian-protector of a small, secluded spring deep within a larger forest. The spring was lush with flora, and had many small animals inhabiting the area, a pastoral dream come to life. The spring held a small pond in the center of it, filled by a small waterfall, and trickled out into the forest in a small crick. The trees in the area bore plentiful fresh fruit, far more than Robs and the other inhabitants of the spring needed, so she would often make trips out of the forest to a nearby town to gift them to the townspeople. In return, they helped construct a wooden cabin for her to protect her from harsh winters. Occasionally she would use the fruits as bartering tools to acquire materials to create art, especially items for drawing and painting.

Most of her free time was spent tending to the plants in the area, taking care of sick or injured animals, and spending time writing or drawing. She utilized the robins that frequented the area as messenger birds to deliver letters to her friends that lived elsewhere. What she does not remember is how she died, or even that she died at all. She lived her life well under the assumption that she was never going to die, and carries that delusion with her into the afterlife. Her cause of death was “accidental” drowning.

Afterlife

Her most recent solid memory is wandering into the House of Hades, and conversing briefly with Hypnos. Having lived a largely unremarkable life, she was neither condemned to Tartarus nor elevated to Elysium - instead simply sent out of the house to reside within Asphodel. She’s glad she isn’t in Tartarus, and she wouldn’t handle the pressure of Elysium very well - but the heat of Asphodel really gets to her. Because of this, she spends most of her time within the fountain chambers, where the air is a little cooler. Plus, it reminds her of the pond she lived at in life.
